Join Glenn Crytzer and his Famous Orchestra Wednesday nights at the Secret Room for NYC's only evening of music from the Jazz Age and Swing Era with a 16-piece big band! Travel back in time to the age of prohibition, big bands, and lindy hoppers with Glenn and his award-winning musicians. 3rd - Harmonica Bill & Marked Deck 

Big Daddy's  Massapequa, NY

Harmonica Bill & Marked Deck, a tasty LI  blues combo that's best known for playing low-down greasy 1950's-era, Chess-Records-style blues, begins a First Thursday of The Month residency that will run thru to December 2020 at Big Daddy's in Massapequa.  Showtime: 6:30 pm - 9 pm.


3rd - Dave Diamond & Friends 

Still Partners  Sea Cliff, NY

Dave Diamond & Friends begin a Thursday night residency during the month of October @ this popular bistro in Sea Cliff.  Showtime: 8:30 pm.


3rd - Chameleonize 

Blue Point Brewpub  Patchogue, NY

Chameleonize are a 6-piece acid-jazz / funk-fusion band whose influences include Erykah Badu, Snarky Puppy, and Hiatus Kaiyote. Combining complex musical sequences with attractive pop melodies and hip-hop grooves, they exhibit a unique twist on contemporary music.  Showtime: 3 pm..


3rd - 4 Amigos 

Beau's Bar  Greenlawn, NY

The 4 Amigos are one of the bands that began at Beau's and who have continued and flourished. The cool combo features four veteran players of the LI music scene; John Mercuiro, Russ Seeger, Jeff Goldstein and Lee Shonik.  Showtime: 8 pm - 11 pm.


4th - Fishing With Fredo (full band) 

Swing The Teapot  Floral Park, NY

Fishing With Fredo, which is performing as a full band line-up featuring Jim Treutlein, Joseph Perricone Steve Kaplan and Michaael Leuci, brings their special singer-songwriter groove to Swing The Teapot, a lively eatery in Floral Park.  Expect an evening of original music along with some choice cover material.  Showtime: 9 pm - Midnight.  Note: Get There early as this venue fills up quickly.


4th - Barry Waller 

Kelly's Ale House  Bohemia, NY

As a solo singing guitarist, Barry has performed countless pub gigs in Denmark, Switzerland, Finland and beyond. As bassist, Barry Waller has toured Europe and the U.K. with Deep Purple's founding father Ritchie Blackmore, in Blackmore's Night (under the pseudonym Baron Saint James!). Nowadays, Barry continues to happily surprise restaurant crowds with his refreshing "outside the box" style and repertoire.  Showtime: 7 pm - 10 pm.


4th - Eddie Trap

4th - Bobby Kyle & The Administers 

Treme  Islip, NY

This seasoned trio whips up a mix of Blues, R&B, Rock, Roots, and Americana sounds.  For this gig, they will be joined by Atsushi Ouchi on Tenor sax and Satish Robertson on Trumpet.  Showtime: 8 pm - 11:30 pm.


4th - WE-GA-CHEW

5th - The Districts @ The 1st Annual Oyster Ball

On Saturday, October 5th, The Blue Point Brewing Company is throwing down at their first annual Blue Point Oyster Ball! Come on down for an afternoon of unlimited oysters, live local music by The Districts, and of course plenty of beer. Fun, fast, loud.. It's Bangers and Mash! Cranking out original songs or completely skewering a classic, "BAM" gives it all they've got, all the time. They'll keep you dancing in the aisles, raising a pint, and having a ball. Bangers and Mash is "Music for the Celticly Insane.  This show is the band's monthly German Beer meets Celtic Insanity gig right in the middle of Oktoberfest.  Showtime: 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Low Roller  -- A Brooklyn-based country quartet that captures the carefree essence of classic West-Coast Americana, influenced by the Laurel Canyon Scene and the Bakersfield Sound.

Christine Sweeney -- Christine Sweeney & the Dirty Stayouts is a unique indie blues pop band from NY. Notes of blues, jazz and folk can be found sprinkled in the music.

5th - Dan Feldman's Jam

This just in from David Feldman: " I am starting a Jam as part of my gig at The Headliner Bar & Grill, the next 4 Saturday afternoons. 3-6. Equipment will be limited to start. I will have an extra amp and possibly a bit more equipment. Guitarists/bassists particularly welcome. We prob won't have a drum kit to start. Music will be blues, classic rock, a bit of 50s and earlier (jazz/Sinatra songbook)."  Sounds like a fun!  Showtime: 3 pm - 6 pm.

6th - Interplay Jazz Orchestra

This sixteen-piece ensemble of seasoned players has the distinction of being the only active big band on Long Island that performs original music.  Their shows always feature an energetic approach to jazz while still maintaining the traditions of that particular musical genre.  Showtime: 7 pm.


6th - Annie Mark & Chris James 

Northport ArtWalk @ 83 Main St.  Northport, NY

Make a point of catching this sparkling duo as they perform at the Northport ArtWalk; an event where Local merchants team up with local artists for an afternoon of exhibits, live music and beautiful creativity. 6th - Autism & Music Benefit

6th - Oktoberfest with Johnny Koenig

6th - The Tone Healers

The Tone Healers will be hosting a jam at Bartini Bar in Babylon. This tasty jazz combo will be performing some original music along with some classics in the first set.  After that, the band will invite local musicians to sit in during the second set.  Showtime: 7:30 pm - 11 pm.


7th - Richie Cannata's Open Mic Jam 

The Bitter End  NYC

Richie Cannata's Mon Night Open Mic Jam with Friends started in the late 80's on a Wed. night at the China Club when the club was on west 75th and Broadway in NYC. It was called the "Pro Jam".  The band was called Cat Lingo and Cannata co- hosted it with Julio Fernandez and Judy Tint was the host during the night. It developed into the most sought after live music event in the city for many years. We had major artists from all over the world come in and jam.  The jam went through many changes as Julio and I both went on the road. I went out with Billy Joel and The Beach Boys and Julio with Spyro Gyra and when they came back it moved from club to club in the city. Bobby Nathan then took it over at The Triad and eventually it moved it to The Le Bar Bat. From there cannata took it over again and formed a new band with John, Chris, George and Jim with Lisa as the host and singer and started it at an east side club called Decade. They soon moved it over to The Cutting Room ,where it remained for five years, Kevin Bregande came in drums and Benny Harrison on keys The jam then found a new home at The Bitter End. Richie Cannata - Sax, Host / Benny Harrison - Keys, Vocals / Frosty Lawson- Trumpet, Flugelhorn and List Organizer, Vocals / Jim Moran - Guitar, Vocals.  George Panos- Bass / Kevin Bregande - Drums.  $10 admission  Sign-up sheet in person.Showtime: 11 pm.

8th - A Night of Music For Veterans

This veteran blues outfit, 2015 & 2016 winners of the Long Island Blues Challenge, brings a taste of their down & dirty mix of  blues, r&b, funk and reggae to this blues/jazz venue in Islip.  Showtime: 8 pm.


10th - Jay Reilly

Jay Reilly, a local songwriter whose original songs have a dark humorous quality much like the work of Randy Newman and Tom Lehrer, headlines the Open Mc Night at Mr. Beery's.  Expect an a set of music that features Reilly's smart mix of cynicism and sentiment.  Showtime: 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Paveway Records artists, Maisons, a groovy alternate rock combo, will be playing two 45 minutes sets consisting of our originals and covers at this popular watering hole in Port Jefferson.  Showtime: 7 pm - 11 pm.

10th - The Stollers

The Stollers are a group of veteran players whose musical journey began in Greenwich Village, took them to Woodstock (the town not the festival) and of course back here to Roslyn.   The Stollers meet at the corner of Mind Street and Heart Blvd where high meets low. Shazam!  Six slightly deranged musicians playing the cheesiest songs of the 70's. The Folk Music Society of Huntington’s monthly Folk Jam/Song Circle/Sing-Along affords musicians and singers of all experience levels an opportunity to play, sing and hone their performance skills. Extending from 1-4 p.m. one Sunday each month at the South Huntington Public Library (145 Pidgeon Hill Road, Huntington Station), the Folk Jams are completely acoustic, unplugged events attended primarily by amateur musicians and those who love to sing. Visitors who just want to listen are also welcome. Song selections range across the broad folk milieu, but are often taken from the "Rise Up Singing" or the new “Rise Again” songbooks. Admission is free and open to the public.
