ABOUT POSITIVE COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

“Positive Community Connections, formerly known as Positive Behavior Community Foundation, was established to help people with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other special needs with a particular focus on self-determination and full inclusion in the community. Their mission is to help these individuals access the supports and services they need to become active and productive members of the community, to encourage long-term planning for aspiring towards meaningful life goals, and to support efforts to establish social connections and friendships in the community.”

ABOUT CARE-IN ACROSS AMERICA

Care-In Across America is a Positive Community Connections (formerly known as Positive Behavioral Supports Community Foundation) Virtual Musical fundraiser. Reminiscent of nostalgic musical variety shows of the past this spectacular two hour event invites musicians from around the country to perform.

Each artist pre-records an 8 minute video, and it is weaved together and streamed to look like a live broadcast. The host introduces each of the fourteen performers individually, and highlights their new releases and upcoming shows. Last year, artists ranged from ages 11-59 years old and many genres of music were included. We even had a magician perform some wonderful illusions.

A few cameos were included last year as well. Gene Groove Allen from House Party, International Gaming Sensation "Skeptic", and LI Blues Hall of Fame Inductee Kerry Kearny all checked in during our broadcast.

During intermission Ruth-Ann Hartney, the Executive Director of Positive Community Connections, introduced a video to highlight the foundation's mission of support and important initiatives.

We are hopeful that this Care-In event can serve as a blueprint for others to copy from in the future.
